IPHONE 12 PRO REVIEW AND MY OPINION

IPHONE 12 PRO REVIEW AND MY OPINION

Iphone  12 pro

as my main device for the last couple of
since it first came out i've been using
it as my primary device i didn't switch
back to another phone or anything
and what i can tell you is that for the
most part i've had
a pretty decent experience with this
phone but i don't think it was really
that big of an upgrade at all coming
from my iphone 11 pro
especially when it comes down to the
battery life and i hit on this on my
iphone 12 review as well
and you're probably confused because i
don't have a sponsorship or anything
usually every time i watch a video like
this
there's always some sponsor thing and
they take 50 minutes to get into the
video i'm just gonna break it down right
now
the battery life was one of the main
issues that i had initially when i was
getting my iphone 12 pro
when i first bought it i was like okay
like that it's probably going to be okay
but then eventually the rumor started
coming out that it was going to have
smaller battery size and that in and of
itself was something that kept me up at
night because
they already increased the battery size
in one area from going from the 10s to
the iphone
11 pro but why would they go and
decrease it it made absolutely no sense
to me
they increased the size of the screen
they increased the power and everything
so
and they were going to add 5g so i'm
like it's probably gonna just have
horrible battery life now what actually
ended up happening was was that
i did a bunch of tests with this phone i
did you know compared it to a bunch of
other iphones you've probably already
seen a couple
i've done camera comparisons battery
comparisons all set videos that you can
guys all just watch
and i pretty much saw that my battery
was actually
on paper better than what i was testing
against my iphone 11 pro and iphone 11
and iphone 10s
and all those other iphones that have
bigger battery sizes than this one
and it even beat my iphone 10s max which
i was very surprised about
but i pretty much came down to the
conclusion that it was an artificial
i guess decrease in battery life on
these older iphones because
ios 14 came out and that has been all
across the board
worst battery life and i didn't even
notice it until i eventually switched my
main device my iphone 11 pro at the time
and i updated to ios 14 and i was
noticing i was ending my day at like 20
even less than that when i would
normally end the day off at like 50
so that was a huge difference in my
opinion now with this phone
ios 14 was optimized for this device so
when i was doing that test
i saw that pretty much it was beating
all those other phones it didn't beat
any of my android phones except my
galaxy s8 which was very weird my galaxy
s9 outperformed this thing too which you
know
says something but on top of that right
now with the first like two days of me
using the phone it was pretty much
okay and then the first week or two i
was like all right that's fine but now i
think it's been like two or three weeks
since i've owned this phone
now the battery life has actually gotten
down even worse like i don't know what's
going on with it i'm at 87
i really haven't even used this phone
that much so it's very weird it's like
noon right now and i don't use my phone
that much if i'm being completely honest
usually typically i would still be at
like 90 of my 11 pro on ios 13. so
the battery life is one thing that i
feel like the 12 pro
is probably it's not gonna hold up too
well if i'm being honest it's going to
be probably comparable to something like
an iphone 10s
they decrease the battery size coming
from the iphone 10 and that's just
something that was very weird to me that
that was the case
i feel like once ios 14 gets better the
iphone the older iphones will probably
end up being better but
that was one area that i was really
focused in on in beginning with the
iphone 12 pro had pretty decent battery
life but right now it's kind of getting
worse and worse and i have to actually
kind of turn off 5g to you know save up
a bunch of battery
but you shouldn't just have to turn off
features to have a better battery life
they should have put
a better you know bigger size battery in
this device instead of shrinking it
they've increased the size of the body
to increase the size of the screen
you're telling me they couldn't have put
a bigger battery in here it makes
absolutely no sense
however on the plus side the build
quality of this phone is superb i love
the feeling of it
i don't want to put a case on it i don't
i haven't put a case on it yet i put a
glass screen protector on it
and i may or may not but i just love
feeling this phone i don't want to just
hate on its own too much
i sound like a spoiled brat but i feel
like this thing feels like a thousand
dollar phone you know i've held phones
like you know obviously like the iphone
4
iphone 5se those ones feel pretty
premium too
but this one has the extremely good heft
to it they shrunk down a little bit of
the body bezel around it
and with that stainless steel chassis or
whatever it is it feels extremely good
in the hand and it has such good have to
it
unfortunately if you drop it you know
it's probably gonna you know hit the
floor a little bit harder because it's
heavier
but this phone has apparently increased
in the durability department ib
certification is better which is
something that's huge
and when you're using this phone you're
definitely going to feel like you have a
thousand dollar phone luckily
in terms of the build quality just the
battery is one thing that
included you know mag safe charging but
i'm never gonna i have a magsafe charger
i don't use it
it's just kind of pointless and i think
they spent a lot of time talking about
it
but definitely the build quality is
superb in my opinion now on the front
that panel that 6.1 inch screen
i actually like it a lot you know i
think it's an improvement i guess from
the iphone 11 pro
only in the sense that it's you know a
bigger display i feel like everything
else about it is exactly the same in
some cases i kind of missed my 11 pro
panel because it was a smaller phone
but this one i think feels exactly the
same it's exactly the same panel for the
most part
i i think they may have hit on that it
was brighter or something i really don't
see it if it's almost exactly the same
those people are trying to hype it up
too much
but also when you look at the other side
it's like you look at all the other
phones across the board you look at even
like the oneplus 8 of the oneplus 8t
even the oneplus 7 pro from last year
had a 90hz refresh rate
i don't understand why apple didn't put
an increase in refresh rate here they
could have you know done 90 hertz
i would have rather taken something like
that than 5g if i'm being completely
honest
they're both going to kill the battery
life but at least i feel like though
90hz or 120hz refresher it would have
been
noticeably better something i could have
interacted with all day i'm always at
wi-fi so there's no point but like
the 90 hertz or 120 hertz refresh rate
is something that a lot of manufacturers
are doing and it just doesn't make any
sense to me that they didn't put it in
this device
i feel like at the end of the day it is
what it is we're probably going to get
it next year
but it's it's making me more hyped up
about the iphone 13 in my opinion
than the iphone 12 so that is something
i'm probably going to hit on later on in
this video
but other than that i mean the panel is
great now unlocking the phone and
actually using it day by day
like i said i've been using it for
everything for the last you know couple
of weeks
and on top of that i've been comparing
it against all those other phones too
and basically from what i've seen from
all my tests this phone
is a very fast phone you know it's
extremely fast it hasn't really slowed
down on me i've had a couple apps crash
here in here and i've got
other things happen but i i can depend
on this phone luckily you know with my
11 pro
with my iphone 10 i could easily depend
on those phones and i wasn't feeling
like it was going to just not work
anymore or
anything like that luckily and it was
very consistent you know consistent
performance across the board
it was pretty much i think at the end of
the day
faster than my previous iphones but when
you go back and i said this before with
my iphone 12 review
when you go back to the previous
generation like the iphone 11 iphone 10s
even iphone 10 i think there's marginal
increase in performance
from the iphone 11 to the 12 pro there's
really not that much from the 10s to the
12 pro a little bit
but i wouldn't even think you would
notice a day-by-day increase in
performance until you get to a phone
like the iphone 8 plus
and you know probably all those other
gesture based iphones i think the sc2 is
really fast
but when you compare those phones the
older home button iphones
those ones are a little bit slower
you're going to feel like you have a
faster phone going to the 12 pro for
sure
but i really wouldn't even recommend
updating unless you have an iphone 8
plus roller
based on the performance it just doesn't
really give me that vibe in my opinion
and i also saw that even though this
thing has that a14 chip
with six gigabytes of ram i really
didn't see it you know being that much
better in the ram management portion
it really did not feel like that in my
opinion it felt like it was very average
like if some apps were closing out on
this phone
where the 11 pro was still able to keep
it in the background it was beating my
iphone 12 which was good
but for all the other purposes like it
just really wasn't doing that well like
with six gigs of ram
i think he's either the a14 chip or
something is going on with this phone
that's not making it really use up all
that ram that it has
and it does close out a lot of apps in
the background now luckily i don't use a
lot of apps in the background i don't
multitask a lot
but for those of you who do this is the
best iphone i guess for it
it will probably get better over time
with software updates but it's also very
weird that that was the case so
i don't really understand that either so
in terms of performance that pretty much
covers it up
the camera quality has been very good so
far too i mean it's probably been an
improvement from the last you know
sensors i've used
but i'll say this and i'll say it again
like i just don't know how many people
out there
are filming you know 4k videos every
single day and making videos from their
phone
i think a majority of people are
literally just making snapchats or tic
tocs from their device or
putting instagram stories up or
something i don't think a lot of people
are trying to get the craziest best best
quality
i think like i said a majority of people
are just trying to just film
off snapchat and not have to think about
it and that's how i am that's how i i
mean i
never make videos on my phones probably
i i do sometimes
but i can still depend on this to do
really good video quality audio quality
all that stuff
but for some reason apple likes to spend
a lot of time talking about the cameras
i wish they talked about you know
like other features besides the camera
they added the lidar sensor which is
really cool
and i think that's an improvement and i
just don't know i mean the camera
quality is great and you know
i wish they did at 8k i feel like that
would have been awesome but i just don't
think there's just
a lot enough to hit on here of an
improvement for me to be like yeah you
have to upgrade because of the camera
now if you're coming from like an iphone
7 plus or iphone 8 plus
even maybe an iphone 10 or you may see a
little bit of a difference especially on
that front camera because you can do 4k
60 on the front of this
you cannot do 4k 60 on any of the iphone
10s 10 or whatever but you can do 4k
60 on the front of the iphone 11 11 pro
11 pro max and so it doesn't really make
any sense to upgrade from the 11 or 11
pro to this phone but if you have an
older phone just for the camera
and you had to upgrade for it you're
probably going to get a better front
camera on
something like this than on the iphone
10s or 10r to be
completely honest but the back cameras
quality wise is still good you're still
getting the ultrawide sensor telephoto
lens
the lidar sensor is included too so
definitely an improvement but
i mean it's very i mean if the this
phone was like 100 a 10 out of 10
perfect camera which it's not
the iphone 11 pro is probably like a 9.9
out of 10 like this can pretty much do
everything it's going to be exactly the
same for the most part and i've actually
had like i've said before
my fear of issues my fair share of
issues that was called on this phone i
mean
i feel like the software still has a lot
of bugs inside of it i have personally
haven't had a crazy amount of issues but
i've heard a lot of stories of people
having a ton of issues on this phone
battery life has been something that i'm
not really happy about i feel like my
phone could probably die at the end of
the day unfortunately
i've never really felt like that on my
iphone 12 or my iphone 11 pro
but this one that actually ends up kind
of being the case so i'm not really too
sure what's going to happen there
but really everything else has been
pretty normal it's been pretty average
i like the build quality i like this
phone overall i think my phone i think
this phone
has been net positive overall but my 11
pro i mean i kind of missed that phone
too because
it's cheaper now than what this phone is
and i felt like that
going from the iphone 10s to the 11 pro
was a better upgrade than going from the
11 pro
to the iphone 12 pro like i just don't
think that was that big of an upgrade in
my opinion
like it's just very average it's just
across the board it's just a very
average phone and i feel like i said the
same thing about the 11 pro
so this opinion could change very soon
but i feel like with owning these type
of phones like the 12 pros
it really makes me appreciate these
older iphones still like the 11 pro
even a phone like the iphone 10 that
phone was the first one to bring face id
and everything and
i'm really surprised that that phone
still holds up this well it's still
extremely smooth it still looks
extremely good
and it still like feels extremely
premium so that is something that i
really do like about this phone that it
makes me
like my older phones too but i think at
the end of the day if you were to pick
up the iphone 12 pro if you have all the
money in the world you know go for it
but i would still look at the other
options if you currently have like an
iphone 10
iphone 10s 10 or 11 i would 100 key but
i would not upgrade yet
i would literally wait for the iphone 13
or iphone 12s i feel like that's going
to be a bigger upgrade like i stated
than this phone
but the choice is yours but that's
pretty pretty much my opinion so far
